Modafinil vs Adderall vs Ritalin vs Focalin vs Dexedrine

Human Nerve Cell Synapse Receptor

Modafinil vs Adderall, and the Benefits, Dosage and Side Effects of Each Drug

The debate of Modafinil vs Adderall is a very common and popular one, and most user reviews online put Modafinil as an equally effective drug in comparison to Adderall, just with less side effects and a longer duration of action. Potent stimulant drugs like Modafinil Modafinil vs Adderalland Adderall are commonly taken by entrepreneurs, college students, and those in high pressure sales or high-risk jobs that require users to be on their A-game as much as possible. For the gold standard in all things nootropics, Modafinil and Adderall are most people’s go to because of just how strong and effective these stimulants are as cognitive enhancers, as well as for how long they last and how much energy they give users. For productivity levels, Modafinil and Adderall are both very powerful Smart Drugs, and through the duration of this blog post, we’ll compare Modafinil vs Adderall to see exactly what each drug is like among users who take it.

What is Modafinil?

Modafinil is a wakefulness-promoting drug that is commonly used for Narcolepsy, ADHD, Chronic Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and for cognitive enhancement as a Smart Drug. Deemed the “CEO’s drug” by many, Modafinil helps users to increase their mood, memory, focus and energy levels to fairly significant degrees. Modafinil is very frequently compared to Adderall because of how both drugs have strong stimulating and euphoric effects, and of how both typically last a very long time.

Benefits of Modafinil

Modafinil has a host of benefits with regards to its abilities on improving cognitive functioning, including the improvement of memory, mood, focus, energy levels, productivity, mental endurance, and persistence, in those users who take it. But what causes this directly, and what neurotransmitters does Modafinil affect which create these powerful cognitive enhancing effects?

Modafinil affects a set of primary neurotransmitters in the brain that are responsible for pleasure, concentration, motivation and motor skills. The main receptors of these are:

Dopamine-Primary neurotransmitter involved in focus, motivation and pleasure. Released in natural activities like sex and eating, as well as when accomplishing a difficult goal-making money has also been linked to a significant release of dopamine, as has falling in love.

Serotonin-Help to balance out the manic highs of dopamine by relaxing users.

Histamine-Primary wakefulness neurotransmitter.

Norepinephrine-Jump starts the body and gives users a physical energy boost.

There are other, more minor neurotransmitters that Modafinil, Provigil and Armodafinil also have an effect on, however those aformentioned are the main neurotransmitters that create the noticeable and stimulating part of Modafinil’s effect.

Dosage of Modafinil

Typical Dosages of Modafinil range from 100 to 200 milligrams per day and are typically taken in the morning. 100 milligrams is usually the minimum effective dosage of Modafinil, and is the dosage at which effects are most frequently felt, whereas 400 milligrams serves as a type of ceiling dosage of the drug, meaning that it is the point at which side effects outweigh the potential benefits of the drug.

There is also a ton of research present currently on Modafinil, the gist of which can be found right here:

The world’s first true “smart drug” enhances cognition and is deemed safe by health experts

Common Smart Drugs that are Stacked with Modafinil

A myriad of signature Smart Drugs and nootropics are frequently stacked atop Modafinil, and among these include:

Piracetam-The original nootropic Smart Drug, first founded in the early 1960’s by a Russian scientists, since Piracetam’s inception and since the rise of movies like Limitless and Lucy, Piracetam has become a mainstream nootropic and has pushed the use of Smart Drugs more frequently online.

Aniracetam-An enhanced version of Piracetam that is around five times as powerful, it also has a potent anti-anxiety effect to it that Piracetam lacks, use with a choline source for best effects.

Oxiracetam-Called the speedy racetam for its potent energy boosting effects. Used with a choline source this drug can be very effective long-term, generally said to be about fifteen times stronger than Piracetam.

Pramiracetam-Thirty times stronger than Piracetam and known primarily for its potent memory benefits.

Phenylpiracetam-Forty times more poweful than Piracetam and with an added stimulant effect, generally speaking Phenylpiracetam is very euphoric and improves focus much more than Piracetam does.

Noopept-Around 1000 times more potent than Piracetam, and very strong when stacked with other related stimulant nootropics like Modafinil.

And a host of other similar and related nootropics.

How to Use Modafinil Properly, and Which Drug is Safer When Comparing “Modafinil vs Adderall”

When looking at Modafinil vs Adderall with regards to overall safety, Modafinil is usually going to be the much safer drug. It is less addictive and lasts much longer, and is generally considered a “wakefulness-promoting,” drug, vs a stimulant like Adderall. Seeing as if Adderall is also an amphetamine, it is incredibly potent yet also incredibly addictive, it is very easy to get hooked on and most users develop a tolerance to the drug’s effects quite quickly, as is true with nearly all pshycostimulant ADHD medications, including Ritalin, Modafinil vs AdderallDexedrine, Desoxyn, and the like of similarly related stimulant drugs for attention and focus issues. Modafinil is very difficult to get hooked on, does not develop tolerance rapidly at all, and just came out with research claiming that it is in-fact the world’s “first safe Smart Drug.”

Modafinil vs Adderall With Regards to Addiction Risks

As stated in the former, Adderall has way more addiction risks than Modafinil does, seeing as if Adderall is an amphetamine based drug and Modafinil is a eurogenic stimulant and wakefulness-promoting substance, acting on the histamine neurotransmitters rather than the dopamine ones. While it is possible to experience a mild crash or a slight withdrawal from Modafinil when the drug is taken obsessively and in very high amounts, this is very rare and most users never experience this when using the drug.

Modafinil vs Adderall Regarding Potency

While Adderall is actually more potent than Modafinil, and offers a much stronger “kick in the pants,” and euphoric coming up that you can feel, it is short lived due to the advent of tolerance, causing Modafinil to be the stronger drug long-term. If you’re looking to take a stimulant drug to boost productivity, mood and energy levels, Modafinil is the better drug long-term, and over the months and years of use, you’ll get much more out of Modafinil than you will out of Adderall.

Modafinil vs Adderall vs Ritalin vs Dexedrine, and Other ADHD Psychostimulant Medications

Now let’s look at several other stimulant drugs talked about infrequently in this article, those being Ritalin, Dexedrine, Focalin, Desoxyn and Concerta. While Adderall is by far the most common of the ADHD psychostimulant drugs that are currently available on the market, it is not necessiarly the most powerful with regards to a one shot deal, the trophy for this would likely go to Dexedrine. With this in mind, let’s take a look at each of these medications:

Modafinil-My personal favorite ADHD medication and stimulant medication, packs a great punch but with a very small amount of side effects.

Adderall-Extremely strong but also very addictive, builds up a tolerance quickly, and has a lot of side effects.

Ritalin-Less addictive and with less side effects than Adderall, cons are that it only lasts for 4-6 hours at a time.

Concerta-Extended release form of Ritalin, same pro’s and cons overall.

Dexedrine-Dexedrine is essentially Adderall without the levoamphetamine isomer, meaning that it is 100% dextroamphetamine, the potent part of Adderall and other amphetaine based drugs.

How to Effectively Stack Piracetam with Modafinil

How to Combine Piracetam Effectively with Modafinil

What is Piracetam, and How can it be Stacked with Modafinil Effectively?

Piracetam was first made in Belgium in 1960s as a smart drug. Piracetam is a recurring derivative of gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA). Currently it used in many of the European countries, South America and Asia. In the US, piracetam has not been a proved for any medical use by the US Food and Drug Administration, and in the UK it is not allowed to be sold as dietary supplement. Long after its discovery, it has been used mostly as a nootropic agent in enhancing the memories of human beings. This drug, when stacked with Modafinil, can make the effects somewhat cleaner, and also add to its memory, mood and focus qualities. This article will focus mainly on the effects of Piracetam, and how these can enhance those already powerful benefits of Provigil, Modvigil or Modafinil.

Benefits of Piracetam

Piracetam is very effective in the treatment of cognitive impairment, stroke, ischemia, and dementia and this has been acknowledged all over the world.

It greatly contributes to cognition enhancement of the dyspaxic and dyslexic in children.

It is very useful to people suffering from Down syndrome as it is usually employed in slowing down the aging of brain.

It also serves as a modulator during brain metabolism, neuro-plasticity and neuro-protection.

Piracetam is also said to have anti-seizure and anti-epileptic effects hence a very important drug for medicinal use.

More important also is that piracetam is used in reducing the symptoms associated normally with clinical depression, anxiety, withdrawal from alcohol among many others.

Dosage when Stacking Piracetam with Modafinil

Though this is not applicable to every person, 1600 mg thrice every day is normally the starting standard dosage of piracetam. This dosage normally varies in case the patient is a child. In most cases the piracetam recommended dosage varies based on the reason of Piracetam and Modafinil Stackuse, it normally ranges from 1.6g daily that is from 2-12 pills a day. Mostly people report of getting good results when they take 1-2 pill after every hour for 4- 6 hours daily or if they take 4-8 pills just once for the first few days of medication to notice some effects. Even if piracetam is overdosed or taken for such a long period of time, it has never been recorded medically to have very adverse side effects. Only few cases of insomnia and headaches have been reported at personal level of people’s experiences as a result of lack of natural choline levels. When stacked with a powerful stimulant drug like Modafinil, use 800mg of Piracetam and around 200mg of Modafinil.

Piracetam side effects

Piracetam is known to have very less side effects medically, and those if any are typically very few, transient, and mild. A twelve week study on people taking high doses of piracetam found that there was no adverse effect on the persons that were taking piracetam as compared to those of placebo group. A lot of other studies have found piracetam to have no bad side effects. Some of the general excitability include insomnia, anxiety, irritability, tremor, and hyperkinesia, are some of the side effects normally reported. Other side effects that are also reported include weight gain, somnolence, weakness, increased libido, clinical depression, and hyper-sexuality.

Piracetam Research

Brain Aging;

The research mostly discusses about the aging of the brain and how it helps in solving the cognitive issues. The research also talks about another nootropic called Hydergine. This research is important to anybody trying to find out about the aging of the human brain.

Below is an up to date-research about the benefits of Piracetam

Piracetam Nootropic

Piracetam is kind of water soluble Pyrrolidone derived from Nootropic Smart Drug. Its chemical component is similar to that of Pyroglutamate.

Health benefits of piracetam

Aging and Life Extension. Piracetam possesses the Life Extension ability.

-It prolongs the lives of mice and rats under the conditions of Hypoxia.

  1. A) Cardiovascular System

Piracetam helps to counteract Hypoxia which occurs due to Atherosclerosis. It also improves the blood circulation to and from the brain thus reducing the chances of cerebral insufficiency. Piracetam also counteracts Raynaud’s Disease as it alleviates the underlying Hypoxia which is known to cause the disease. It also enhances the after treatment of the Stroke as it helps in enhancing of the oxygen distribution in brain.

  1. B) Detoxification

Piracetam is also used in treating Alcoholism as a result of its ability of enhancing oxygen utilization in the brain, it does this by countering the inefficient utilization of the oxygen that is usually associated with people who consume alcohol and it also prevents damaging of the Neurons of the Hippocampus as a result of Alcohol consumption and impedes severe destruction of the hippocampal Neurons immediately after alcohol withdrawal after long use.

  1. C) Metabolism

Piracetam improves the Athletic Performance at places of high altitudes as a result of its ability to impede Hypoxia. Piracetam also reduces Fatigue. Piracetam impedes and accelerates the brain from recovering from Hypoxia.

  1. D) Nervous System Piracetam increases the Alertness in the normal, healthy humans and age impaired people. It improves the conditions of people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia disease. Piracetam is also very useful in the long term treatment for coagulation, vasospastic, and clotting disorders like deep –vein thrombosis and Raynaud’s phenomenon. It also increases the alertness and alleviates depression by around an average of about 50% in dementia patients and Alzheimer’s disease, and also improves on the memory for people suffering from the said diseases.

***-These effects in protection of brain cells help make Piracetam a great drug to stack with a stimulant like Provigil.

Legal status of piracetam

In the US, piracetam is uncontrolled which means it is legal to possess it without having prescription or a license. Distribution, labelling, and selling are all regulated by the FDA rules in case it is sold for purposes of human consumption. In other countries piracetam is likely to be uncontrolled or available by prescription, thus the whole idea depends on the particular country whether it will be uncontrolled or available by prescription.

Provigil Piracetam Stack

Megadosing simply means dosing an amount that is more than the normal, and in most cases is simply an experimental procedure. This practice is both informative and risky, and some people find it to work well in the long run.

Reasons for megadosing

There are various reasons as to why certain people may see megadosing as necessary. Piracetam has a significant variance of effects to its users. It is very common to see a normal dose doing nothing to the user, and in most cases you will need to double or triple normal amounts in-order to feel something different. This is a result of individual’s body chemistry or the occasional display of the rapid drug tolerance. Another case is that for just a normal dosage it only yields very weak effects, which do not normally live up to claims of certain people considered to be more sensitive. However, it is good to avoid megadosing as it possesses some risky challenges.

Piracetam Sublingual use

This supplement is normally used for patients who are just healthy but still experiencing some mild symptoms on non-clinical depressions or lack of motivations. For students or other healthy people who want to improve on their memory retention or concentrate their focus on alternative drugs such as Adderall, and should look into starting off with the usage of some small little amounts of Piracetam and check how they react.

The importance of choline with Piracetam

Some researches done suggest that the combination of choline and Piracetam has very powerful effects. The studies which were done on some rats suggest that Piracetam increases the up-take of choline in hippocampus region of the brain and which is normally associated with the memory. You can also prevent Piracetam headaches by taking Piracetam together with choline. You can also prevent depression by spacing your choline piracetam intake.

Piracetam for ADHD

ADHD is a disorder characterized by distractibility, inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. These conditions can be mitigated by piracetam use, though this supplement is not a cure. Some of the symptoms that piracetam can mitigate include; serving as an Adderall replacement or as an alternative. Piracetam is important for ADHD or ADD sufferers because it helps to improve on communication of the neurons between themselves and with both the hemispheres of the brain.

Piracetam vs Modafinil

A Nootropic refers to a substance which is used in enhancing the cognitive functions like attention and memory. It is usually referred to as “smart drugs”. These nootropics are often known to be non-toxic and non-addictive substances that have very minimal side effects. There are various kinds of nootropics and other prescriptive medications that are available on the market. We have nootropic piracetam or the prescriptive drug version of Modafinil. Modafinil is normally classified as a eugeroic, meaning that this medication improves alertness and reduces the feeling of exhaustion. However, piracetam is safer as compared to Modafinil for people who want to enhance cognition as it has fewer side effects than the latter.

Piracetam vs Adderall

These two are not comparable since Adderall is a Stimulant known to have adverse side effects to healthy un-prescribed people while Piracetam is highly accepted as a Nootropic. However, both of them are still beneficial to the mind.

How to use properly

The normal dose is between 800mg to 2g, and should be taken for 2-3 times a day, and the recommended dosage is 800mg to 4,800mg, splitting between 2-3 equal doses for the whole day.

How long does this last

Adults should take one or at least two 500mg tablets after every 4-6 hours, but should not take more than 4g in a space of between 24 hours. Small children especially under the age of 16 should take a lower dosage, depending on their age and weight.

The dangers of piracetam are not related to toxicity in any way. A lot of study is needed to be done on dangers of piracetam today, because as of today there are no serious dangers posed by this Nootropic drug. In general, we can say that piracetam toxicity is not anything we should worry much about.

Final Thoughts on Piracetam and Modafinil Used in Conjunction

In relation to the procedures of piracetam, I would personally like to say that piracetam is an agent that can be used in preserving the mitochondrial potential. It is also a non-discriminative fluidity preservative. I therefore believe that piracetam is not that much cognitive enhancer since it is a minor longevity enhancing agent; by delaying the age related pathologies in a non-specific and weaker manner. It’s non-toxic, and therefore may be a good preservative agent if you have money to burn. Always keep in mind that when stacking these two drugs together, use the minimum effective dosage of each.

Depression Symptoms Improved by Modafinil

Depression, unbeknownst to many, is one of the most common medical conditions in the world. The WHO claims that 350 million people experience depression annually. While there are many pills that try to alleviate depression’s symptoms, they don’t really offer a cure. Many patients stop taking them due to difficult side effects.

Depression symptoms are complex

But news is showing that Modafinil can have a big impact on people with depression. Depression symptoms are complex and many. At the core of depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes multiple symptoms. Most people just think it means that you feel sad. But it often goes beyond that. Depressed people tend not to experience happiness when they naturally should. For many it’s more of a total lack of emotion. This makes them disinterested in regular tasks.

If you’ve ever wondered why a depressed person can’t just “snap out of it” consider what this means. You get depressed, and your performance at work diminishes. That makes you feel like you’re failing. Maybe you lose your job. It spirals out of control. But now there’s some hope.

Modafinil can improve memory function

Since cognitive functions are also depressed, especially memory and concentration, depression will often cause people to forget important assignments or to miss details in a conversation. A new study shows that Modafinil can improve memory function. The study tested 60 patients and found the Modafinil group did better on memory tests.

This is exciting news for those suffering from depression. Modafinil might be the extra boost they need to stay sharp even when everything else feels dull.

One thing that’s important to note though is the type of patient in the study. They had “remitted depression” which is generally when the depression symptoms subside. They are still present, but are less of a bother. The biggest concern for a doctor is to make sure the patient doesn’t relapse into a full blown depression again. Modafinil would be an excellent tool to keep patients in remission from falling back into the hole.

So if you’re depressed, Modafinil may be able to help you, but consult your doctor. If you’re in remission, this could be a great way to give you a boost and keep depression from consuming you again.

Provigil Prices may Change under Trump

Donald Trump speaks on Drug Prices. Credit: AP

Donald Trump speaks on Drug Prices. Credit: AP

2016 left the world with many questions. The UK voted to leave the EU. The United States elected Donald Trump to the presidency. While immigration and peace in the Middle East tend to dominate the conversation, you shouldn’t ignore Trump’s comments about health care. That goes for people outside the United States as well.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, has not lived up to expectations. Trump campaigned hard against the ACA, and today he held his first press conference since being elected. In this conference he vowed to “repeal and replace” the ACA with something better. And it may have a huge impact on the price of prescription brand-name drugs, like Provigil, around the world.

Provigil Prices are unique in the US

Countries like the UK have a single-payer healthcare system. The single payer is in fact the government. Since the state provides the care and medication, it buys the medicine its citizens need from pharmaceutical companies. State health providers, like the NHS, negotiate to get the lowest price possible for their medicine. This way they can offer it cheap to people like you and me.

In the UK all prescriptions are sold at a flat rate, meaning that the government probably takes a loss on some and profits off of others. Provigil prices in the UK are the same as every other medicine, but Provigil prices are unique in the US. Because the US lacks a single payer to negotiate on behalf of everyone, pharmaceutical companies can charge much higher prices.

The result is that Provigil prices in the US are over $1,000 for a month’s supply. Insurance companies will usually cover a great deal of this, but if you lack insurance you’re out of luck.

How Trump could change Provigil Prices

Trump stated this morning that he would like the government to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies, just like most other countries. This is unprecedented in the US. Pharmaceutical stocks immediately fell 3-5%. Expect Provigil prices to be cheaper in the United States in the years to come if he follows through.

But this affects everyone else on the planet too.

Why do you think the NHS gets a better deal than the US? Part of the reason other countries are able to pay so much less for their medicine is that the US is paying heaps more! Imagine going out to eat with a few friends, and one of them pays for 80% of the check. Your bill just got lighter.

That 80% number might even be low. Some estimates think the US is responsible for 90% of the industry’s profits.

Expect Provigil prices to rise

If Trump starts hurting the profitability of companies in the US, they’ll look to get more out of other countries’ healthcare systems. The NHS, for instance, might be pressured to pay more for medicine. That, in turn, will lead to you paying more for your prescriptions.

Might be a good time to start stocking up if you’re living outside the US.

Lawsuit over Provigil and Modafinil Prices Reaches Settlement

The attorney-generals of New York and Ohio won a settlement with Cephalon, Inc. Cephalon is the pharmaceutical company that invented modafinil. If you purchased name-brand Provigil, or generic Provigil, then you may be eligible for a piece of the pie.

So what actually happened? The $35 million dollar deal was cut behind closed doors, and Cephalon never admitted any wrongdoing. It has to do with US antitrust law and how it works. You can read the full statement here.

Cephalon’s not alone in the lawsuit

Cephalon’s not the only company mentioned. Barr Pharmaceuticals is also on the lawsuit. So is Teva Pharmaceuticals. So how are they connected?

Cephalon’s patent to produce modafinil exclusively was going to expire in 2011. To prepare Barr applied early for FDA approval to produce it. Filing the application early gave Barr time to prepare its facilities for production when the patent eventually would expire. They received permission in 2004.

The lawsuit says Teva skirted the rules

Teva Pharmaceuticals acquired Barr in 2008. Now its Teva vs Cephalon. In the same year as Cephalon’s patent expired, Teva made a bold move. Teva purchased Cephalon in 2011. This meant that Teva would be both a licensed producer of generic modafinil, and the name brand Provigil. Teva event went so far as to apply for a license separate from Barr’s and received it in 2014.

The lawsuit says Teva skirted the rules, because they absolutely did.

This is illegal because it disrupts the market. In a natural market, the generic manufacturer would sell their pills as cheap as possible to encourage customers to stop taking the name brand. But since Teva controlled generic production, they could sell it at a price much closer to the regular price of Provigil. Instead of seeing a massive price difference, customers would see a smaller one, and opt for the name brand drug.

People assume the name brand is better. They are, but not by much.

This lawsuit aims to get some of that money back. The generic should have been cheaper. And that should have caused Cephalon to lowers its Provigil prices. Neither of these things happened.

The attorney-generals’ settlement probably is a tiny fraction of what Teva actually made. Over a million Provigil prescriptions are filled out every year, so a simple $5 increase in price pays for this settlement. The actual difference may have been much more, but to avoid disclosing that information, Teva and Co. have decided to settle this lawsuit out of court.

If you’d like to know if you are eligible for any benefits from the settlement, check out the lawsuit’s page.

Modafinil vs Adrafinil vs Armodafinil vs Hydrafinil

Modafinil vs Adrafinil vs Armodafinil vs Hydrafinil

This blog post will go over the top 4 “afinil” products currently on the market and will go over what works best in terms of potency, price, simplicity, and for which works the best on a long-term, convenient basis. I chose to write this article because of the confusion surrounding Modafinil, and because of how many other nootropics are often compared to it, including those that are significantly weaker. This article should serve as a guide for any users who are conficted about “afinil” nootropics and analogues.

What is Provigil (Modafinil)?

Provigil, also known as Modafinil, is the premium nootropic drug, and by far the most popular of the “afinil” nootropics. The only thing stronger is likely Armodafinil, though Armodafinil is much harder to get your hands on, whereas for Modafinil/Provigil, it’s actually fairly simple. Modafinil, while a drug used professionally for Narcolepsy, ADHD (off-label), and COPD, Chronic Obstructive Sleep Apnea, it has become extremely popular Modafinil vs Adrafinil vs Hydrafinil vs Armodafinilin recent decades for use as a “Smart Drug,” Nootropic and Cognitive Enhancer, and has even been deemed the “CEO’s drug” by many tech blogs that write about Silicon Valley and Wall Street.

Modafinil’s use as a Smart Drug has become so popular because it is effective and works better than most of the other nootropic products on the market. Other common nootropics are very subtle, and when comparing Modafinil to drugs like

Piracetam- Original nootropic, very subtle, typically gives a slight energy boost.

Aniracetam- Mostly for anxiety relief

Oxiracetam- Deemed the “speedy racetam.” very subtle in effects, headaches occur if choline not consistently supplied.

Alpha GPC Choline-Good for stacking with nootropics, nootropic effects comparable to fish oil (zilch) on its own.

It’s not even a choice! If you need to get real work done or are in a crunch for time when cramming for an exam, taking Piracetam or Choline just isn’t going to get you there, you need something that works, and something that works amazingly! Provigil is a drug you can actually feel, and it’s been given loads of hype for a reason, it works like a charm, and it works very effectively. Modafinil vs Adrafinil may be the only “nootropic” comparison worth making, and even then Modafinil is about 4 times the strength of Adrafinil.

Checkout these links for Research Studies proving the effectiveness of Modafinil:

What is Nuvigil (Armodafinil)?

Nuvigil is likely the only Smart Drug stronger than Modafinil right now. Nuvigil was created by Cephalon several years ago, and is a new and improved form of Modafinil. Names also include Waklert, Armodafinil, Nuvigil, and Alertec, I apologize if I’ve left out any. Nuvigil is, in medical literature and on may nootropics forums, such as Longecity and Reddit deemed to be about 30% more effective on a per milligram basis, whether or not this is factually accurate is up for debate. 150 milligrams of Armodafinil is typically equal to 200 milligrams of Armodafinil.

For more information on Armodafinil, checkout these research links

What is Adrafinil (Olmifon)?

Adrafinil is also a erogenic drug that is significantly weaker than Modafinil by a margin of about a third. 100mg of Modafinil is the equivalent of about 300 milligrams of Adrafinil and even then Modafinil is much cleaner than Adrafinil. Adrafinil can have some pretty rough effects on your liver if the drug is taken on a regular basis, and in all honesty this is a drug that should only be taken short-term, if its taken at all. It also is known as Olmifon, and is sold by a number of nootropics websites, including peaknootropics.com, nootropicscity.com, smartdrugsforcollege.com, absorbyourhealth.com, amazon.com, ebay.com, powdercity.com and the like of those that sell nootropics. Compared to Modafinil, it is much harsher and less effective.

Research on Adrafinil:

What is Hydrafinil (9-Fluorenol)?

Hydrafinil, also known by many companies as Fluorenol, is an interesting analogue of Modafinil. It’s hard to find and only a handful of companies sell it, it’s not really a nootropic and instead is more of an RC nootropic (research chemical) because of how little research their is on the drug. Hydrafinil is supposedly a more euphoric form of Modafinil, but having tried it personally, I can say that its similar but much less energizing, it also only lasts about 3 hours, and gave me a horrible headache after the drug came down. Rare to find, and not very effective, steer clear.

Reach your Goals in 2017 with Modafinil

Successfully recovered from your New Year’s festivities? The start of a new year is a great time to get your ducks in a row and make plans. With your hangover gone now’s the time to set your 2017 agenda with some New Year’s Resolutions. Whether you have big goals or small ones, those objectives help you organize your life and accomplish greater things.

Yet, if you’re like most people, you’ve made resolutions at one point or another and then failed to fulfill them. Nobody’s perfect. Don’t let previous failures keep you from glory in 2017! All you need is a little extra commitment. Modafinil can help you reach your goals. Let’s look at some of the most common goals that modafinil can help you with.

#1 2017 Goal: Save Money / Pay off debt

We’d all like to pay off some debt or save up for a big purchase. Maybe it’s a house or a new car. A holiday abroad. Whatever the case is, saving money always sounds easier than it really is. Modafinil can make a difference in two phases of this game.

First off, you need to know your finances. This can be hard for some people. If your income varies from day to day, common for people in the service industry, you need to get into a habit of recording what comes in and what goes out. Salaried workers have it easier. Regardless of your circumstances, take some modafinil and then take charge! Nothing like the focus of modafinil to help you map out your money in an extremely detailed manner.

And when it comes to the actual savings? Modafinil’s cheaper than your daily cup of coffee. If Starbucks is stealing your income, switch it out with modafinil.

Best part? Modafinil will get you to produce more, making it easier to earn more and reach your savings goals.

#2 2017 Goal: Lose weight / Get in shape

Drive up to any gym after January 1st and you’ll see a full parking lot. Come back in February and it’ll be empty. The gym is work. It’s tough. Diet and exercise are two ugly truths we have to face in order to get in shape. If your goal is to drop a few pounds, modafinil could be key to helping you out.

For starters, Modafinil curbs your appetite. Mental Health Daily has a great article on all the ways modafinil can contribute to your weight loss plans. Eating less is a big one. You’ll still feel hungry and need to eat, but you’re more likely to eat less. Starving yourself only shuts down your metabolism. You have to keep eating, but in moderation. Modafinil-eration anyone?

And that energy boost you’ll get helps you work out longer and harder. See better results in less time as you make those workouts count. The added focus helps with form and concentration on your exercises. Great if you lift.

If your goal is to get in shape, modafinil can help you.

#3 2017 Goal: Get an education

Maybe you just finished high school and you’re thinking about entering university. Or perhaps you’re a working adult whose career isn’t moving forward fast enough. In either case, getting an education is one of the best goals you can have. But it can be tough. Universities are increasingly competitive. Students put in long hours preparing for tests and completing assignments. Especially for the working professional who wants to get ahead, the extra load of university work can be daunting.

There’s a reason modafinil is mostly consumed by students: It helps. You’ll get the focus you need to concentrate on your classes. The energy will help you work and study at the same time. And, as studies show, you’ll do it all better.

Make 2017 the year of you. The year of success. With some hard work and some modafinil to make it easier, you’ll find yourself looking back on a great year as you reached your goals. Next year’s champagne will be special.

Are you Impulsive? Modafinil Lowers Impulsive Tendencies, Study Says

Being impulsive killed Romeo, the star of Shakespeare’s greatest story. The dramatist knew humans better than anyone. Impulsiveness is the driver behind many of our greatest problems: Alcoholism, obesity, addiction, just to name a few.

But what does it really mean to be impulsive? And what does any of this have to do with modafinil? A recently-published study from the University of Warwick and the Imperial College of London reveal that modafinil helps to curb impulsive tendencies. This is big news. Millions of people deal with conditions related to impulsive behavior, and modafinil could be the cure.

The meaning of impulsive

You probably think of being impulsive as a general personality trait. An impulsive person does what they feel like doing, right? No second thoughts. While that’s partially true, it ignores the science behind impulsive behavior. The truth is right in the word.

An “impulse” medically speaking is just a signal in your brain. Neurotransmitters trigger impulses that guide your actions. Hunger is an impulse that tells you to eat, for instance.

Fortunately, as humans, we have some ability to control our impulses. You don’t stop whatever you’re doing and devour food the minute your tummy rumbles. But what if your brain gets a little wonky? What if those impulses get harder to control?

Impulsive disorders are extremely common

Addictions of any sort are forms of impulsive disorders. Whenever your brain likes what you’re doing it releases dopamine which is the brain’s way of saying “do that again.” Dopamine feels good! Most drugs that people abuse release heaps of it. That makes their impulses much stronger, and harder to resist.

But as your body becomes desensitized to the constant dopamine rush, you need more to feel satisfied. That’s why you see addictions gradually increase over time. Whether it’s alcohol, hard drugs, or even food, the price of resisting the impulse goes up as your body becomes physically dependent on the chemical in question. Withdrawal symptoms make quitting seem impossible. Really, the phrase “monkey on your back” describes the impulsive nature of addiction to a T.

Can modafinil make you less impulsive?

So naturally, if you wanted to help someone kick an addiction, you’d try to reduce the severity of their impulses. Make them less impulsive. Well, that’s precisely what this study did. It focused on obesity. In many cases obese people struggle to control their impulses for food. Sugar is highly addictive. It, like cocaine or heroin, releases dopamine in large amounts.

The study gave 60 men three different options: Placebo, Atomoxetine, and modafinil. There were 20 in each group. The only group that showed reduced impulsive behavior took modafinil.

Only healthy people were included in the study. The goal was to see if modafinil reduced innate impulsive behavior. If it did, they theorized, then it would be useful for people struggling with addictions.

Modafinil has already been proven to help curb cravings for methamphetamine addicts. Studies like this show that it reduces impulsive actions even in healthy individuals. That could make you much more productive. Instead of caving in to your impulsive desire to sit and watch TV or play a video game, maybe you can get more work done. Modafinil continues to find novel applications for all types of people, and we hope this study is just the start of what’s to come in 2017.

Modafinil in 2016: The Year in Review

2016 has been a tragedy-filled year for the most part. Terrorism runs wild, politicians and voters have lost their collective minds, and economies are still sluggish. But in the world of modafinil things have been cruising along beautifully. 2016 was a banner year for the smart drug. Not only are sales through the roof, but studies are pouring in revealing new applications for the nootropic giant.

As 2016 draws to a close, let’s take a look at some of the biggest developments for modafinil this year.

Modafinil’s cognitive benefits are real

No, it’s not just your mind playing tricks on you. For years students and professionals have been saying this. Well, in 2016, science caught up. One study proved that modafinil gave patients with depression a real improvement in memory function. Patients coming out of depression may have difficulty remembering things because they often walk around disinterested in what they’re doing. If you don’t care, you won’t remember. Modafinil helped them.

And for those totally healthy individuals, the majority of modafinil users, good news! A 2016 study confirmed that modafinil helped executive function and performance, meaning those results you see truly are real, and not placebo. The world’s first smart drug: Proven!

Modafinil can treat just about anything

Since modafinil cuts down fatigue like a chainsaw, researchers realized it could be a boon to so many other medical conditions. Fatigue makes it harder for people to recover. And in literally every trial, modafinil has helped.

Cancer patients? This 2016 study showed you were less likely to feel depressed and more likely to be active in your treatment.

Liver cirrhosis? Maybe you need a bigger dose than what this study tried. Virtually every successful trial has used at least 200mg. This one went easy on the patients with 100mg, and only saw light benefits.

Fibromyalgia? Modafinil can give you a normal life.

Look to 2017 as the year of clinical trials that put modafinil on the market for these conditions. Right now, these are just preliminary studies to test theories. But based on all the positive results, we can expect doctors to make it rain modafinil.

2016 showed Modafinil is safe

Wary of all the studies waving modafinil around like the cure-all panacea we’ve been searching for, some researchers tried to find some hazards. Tough sledding for these guys indeed.

Addiction is always a worry when doctors prescribe medication. The last thing you want is a patient that’s hooked forever. Modafinil time and again proves itself to be safe in this regard. A wide meta-analysis of dozens of studies showed that modafinil was the best option for patients.

Even children can take modafinil! Several 2016 studies experimented with using modafinil for ADHD and the results were excellent. Unlike amphetamine-based drugs like Ritalin or Adderall, modafinil was non-habit forming and didn’t reduce the children’s appetite as much. That’s a big win since a weak appetite could cause stunted growth.

Best of all, side effects are now completely understood and continue to be rare.

It’s been a great year for modafinil, and we know 2017 is only going to be better. With armodafinil undergoing studies, more phase 2 and 3 trials coming, and even the possibility of new formulations of modafinil, 2017 should be an amazing time for the world’s first true smart drug.

Fibromyalgia Patients Reduce Fatigue with Modafinil and Armodafinil

The long list of conditions that modafinil can improve continues to grow. Now you can add fibromyalgia (FM) to it. Researchers are finalizing phase 4 trials, the last step for FDA approval.

Studies have proven modafinil and armodafinil to be extremely effective in helping FM patients. To understand why modafinil is such a great tool for fibromyalgia, let’s look at FM itself.

How Fibromyalgia Affects People

You’ve probably heard of fibromyalgia, if only because it has a unique name. What most people don’t realize is how big of a problem it is. FM affects around 2% of the population in developed countries. We’re talking about millions of people. What’s worse is we don’t even know how it works.

FM is a genetic disorder and is hereditary. Symptoms, depending on the patient, can be incapacitating or mild. This makes it hard to research and treat. As a result, doctors look for ways to reduce the symptoms.

What are the symptoms? The first is chronic, all-over pain, especially in response to pressure. Specific points on the body are even more sensitive. Everyday tasks become more difficult as the pain can be severe. Usually doctors treat this with painkillers and therapy, but that isn’t always effective. The regular pain causes other symptoms, like nonrestorative sleep. As the name implies, this is when you sleep but don’t feel refreshed afterwards.

So imagine your body is stuck in a permanent zombie-like state. You move around and it hurts, so naturally you’d rather not do anything. Work is a nightmare. Even at rest your body aches. Energy is fleeting and hard to come by. You end up with chronic fatigue and can’t hold a job.

That’s the reality for many FM patients. It can be hard for them to even hold down a part time position. Family members and friends have to provide support and FM patients end up with less independence.

How modafinil helps patients with fibromyalgia

I think you can see where this is going. What’s modafinil most known for? Removing fatigue and giving people energy of course. Just like in other medical cases, such as cancer treatment or depression, modafinil can cure chronic fatigue and give people the energy they need to keep going.

Trials are showing this exact same effect with FM patients. Most of them woke up and took a breakfast dose of 200mg, followed by a later dose of 50-100mg in the afternoon. The results were amazing. These were people who literally couldn’t have a life. When trials started, they had no expectations since nothing else had worked before.

While a couple of people dropped out due to complications with their schedule, every patient said they would continue using modafinil. They were able to maintain a more active schedule, without needing naps every day just to function. Their families cheered them on. Overall, modafinil was the answer.

If you know someone with FM or you yourself are dealing with it, talk to a doctor about using modafinil or armodafinil to treat your FM fatigue. Fibromyalgia may not be understood, but at least we have a way to fight back.
